Graphic novel newsSunday, May 29, 2005Titan's May releases
Movies are high on the agenda at Titan Books this month. With the Sin City movie still approaching the UK, two of the books that weren't adapted into the movie, including the excellent A Dame to Kill For (which looks like it might form the basis of a movie sequel) are re-released. The other title to get the second edition treatment is Family Values.
With Batman Begins imminent, there's also a raft of Dark Knight titles available. Batman: The Greatest Stories Ever Told is a nostalgic ride through the last 60 years of Batman stories, while Batman Chronicles: Volume 1 is the start of an epic series of books collecting every Batman tale ever printed, starting here with Detective Comics #27 from 1939 and working through to Batman #1 originally published in 1940. Other movie-linked titles include Star Wars: Empire Volume 4 - The Heart of the Rebellion, following the actions of Princess Leia in the gaps untold between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back; and the sequel to Road to Perdition - On the Road. Also out this month: Alan Moore's Tom Strong Book 4 in hardback, Garth Ennis takes on The Authority with Kev, alternative cartoonists do the DC superheroes in Bizarro World and the golden age heroes are back in JSA Volume 7: Princes of Darkness.
