Graffiti legend Steve Powers has created a graphic novel with street style, called First & Fifteenth: Pop Art Short Stories. The stories are short, snappy, visual and very urban. Although the frames of traditional comics are disposed of, each page of the book is a panel in itself, with dramatic use of typeface borrowed from signs and other familiar symbols. The art itself is bold and dramatic, reduced to basic lines and a handful of colours. Definitely a book for those who like modern art in their comics.
