The hype surrounding the upcoming film has spawned an Aliens vs. Predator graphic novel - Thrill of the Hunt - due from Dark Horse on 11 August. Dark Horse promises it won't be a direct reworking of the movie though.
"Our story takes place a few hundred years in the future," comments writer Mike Kennedy, "as opposed to the contemporary setting of the film. It looks like Art Spiegelman is going to steal the limelight from all other graphic novel releases in September, with his personal account of the destruction of the World Trade Center. Spiegelman, who was in his native New York at the time, has spent the last couple of years working on this - his first major comic project since Maus. To be released on the 7th September, nearly three years to the day that the towers fell, expect great things from this highly anticipated book from one of comics' most respected auteurs.
