Although superheroes have brought masked heroics to a new level, characters like The Lone Ranger and Zorro have been anonymously fighting crime and helping the common American for years. In his latest graphic novel, however, Gary Reed takes the concept of a masked hero back even further, to before the Revolution.
In a small sea-port in America, British troops are sent in to quash a necessary but illegal trade in smuggling. Enter the Scarecrow and his band of Freedom Riders, who aim to bring justice back to the American people and rid the region of its British overlords.
The book is illustrated by acclaimed historical artist Wayne Reid and you can see a preview of the book on publisher Desperado’s website.
