Two of the masterminds behind Batman: The Animated Series come together in comic form for the first time with Mad Love, reprinted from the Batman Adventures series. Paul Dini and Bruce Timm have both helped shape the version of Batman that’s a little better pitched at younger readers, but retains some of the complexity and darkness that makes the character so interesting.
Mad Love won the 1994 Eisner and Harvey awards for best single story. The following year, they won another Eisner for their work on the Batman Adventures Holiday Special, which is also reprinted here. For a full low-down of what’s in it, see the list below.
