Batman and The Joker are set to be hot properties in the run up to July’s The Dark Knight, so the timing of this hardback, featuring Ed Brubaker’s take on an early Batman/Joker encounter, is perfectly pitched. The book contains two stories – the second one doesn’t actually feature The Joker, but it is written by Brubaker, so I suppose we can let it off. In this story, Batman teams up with a Green Lantern to solve a mystery that’s been lingering for a number of years, and sees the Dark Knight doing what he should do more of – flexing his detective brain rather than his muscular brawn.
