Anthologies are a great way to experience new writers and artists without taking too much risk on individual creators, and there are plenty of titles to choose from. Unless you’re a kid, that is. Despite more and more ‘all-ages’ comics cropping up, and manga storming the teen market, comics for younger audiences are still thin on the ground. Flight Explorer is set to help redress the balance. Kazu Kibuishi, who has already made a name for himself editing the Flight anthologies for adults, takes the helm of this collection of pieces from artists who’ll be familiar with readers of his previous books. The result is a charming, kid-friendly collection aimed at a younger reader, who no doubt has at least one parent with a discerning taste for graphic novels.
