The second collection of Hope, originally published in 2000AD, keeps the action in a gritty, noir, post-war America, but shifts it from the sweaty heat of Los Angeles to the mean streets of New York. Private investigator Mallory Hope is called to the Big Apple by an old army colleague, but it’ll be interesting to see whether these two can stay on the same side, as his old friend has used his practical black magic skills to take over a significant swathe of New York’s gangland.
This second book, written by Guy Adams and illustrated by Jimmy Broxton, is available from 8 December 2020. If you aren’t familiar with the series why not read my review of the first volume, For the Future?
