An original graphic novel positioned outside the regular schedule of Hellblazer (or Constantine if you’re a movie convert) titles, this book was originally published in hardback when the Keanu Reeves film came out, perhaps in an effort to convert movie-goers into comic fans.
And Mike Carey’s script is significantly more sympathetic to the John Constantine that comic fans know and love than the movie. Ironically, the action is set in Hollywood, with a demonic force recruiting the services of Constantine to help maintain his position as top dog on the seething cesspit of the movie industry.
