Billed as a “Canterbury Tales for the slacker generation” by its publisher, Red Eye, Black Eye is an autobiographical story following author K. Thor Jensen on a road trip (by Greyhound bus) across the USA. Disillusioned by post-9/11 New York, Jensen visits 18 other cities and covers 10,000 miles in 60 days. Naturally, he gets involved in a few scrapes on the way, from building papier-mache art installations of female genitalia to drug smuggling. As he goes he meets a wealth of interesting people who all get a chance to tell their own stories through the pages of the book.
