Comics can often be the place where movie spin-offs end up, and these can often be disappointing – cheap stories knocked out by hacks, looking to cash in on the success of something popular without caring about their audience.
This can’t be said of Supeman Returns: The Prequels. Written by Bryan Singer, the director of the movie, and the co-writers who worked on the original script, it promises Hollywood quality. This collection covers the last days of Krypton, the memories of Martha Kent, the story of Lex Luthor’s spell in prison and the story behind Lois Lane’s Pulitzer Prize-winning journalism.
